Klaviyo Spring 2026: RCS Messaging, AI Audience Optimization, and Instagram Auto-Replies
75+ Features, But Which Ones Actually Matter?
March 24 was a big day for Klaviyo. The company dropped over 75 new features in one release, pushing the platform further toward “omnichannel marketing” territory. With 193,000+ brands now on the platform, the direction is clear.
Most of these updates are incremental. The ones worth your time: RCS rich messaging, AI Audience Optimization, Instagram auto-replies, and Personalized Send Time hitting GA.
RCS: SMS Gets Visual
RCS (Rich Communication Services) is now generally available. Think of it as SMS with teeth: rich cards, carousels, tappable buttons, all inside the native messaging app.
SMS open rates sit at 98%, but plain text can only do so much. RCS lets you show product images, prices, inventory status, even embed “Add to Cart” buttons without users leaving their messages.
Everything configures inside existing Klaviyo flows. If you’re already running SMS campaigns, switching to RCS doesn’t require new infrastructure.
AI Audience Optimization: Let the Model Pick Recipients
AI Audience Optimization is a predictive filter that runs before each campaign sends. It scores every contact on likelihood to convert, then automatically excludes profiles that probably won’t engage.
Klaviyo’s internal data shows top campaigns saw a 35% lift in click rate after enabling this.
Instead of blasting your entire list, send only to people who’ll actually open. For brands with lists in the hundreds of thousands, this saves real money on sending costs.
Instagram Auto-Replies: Turning Social Engagement Into Owned Audience
Instagram comments and DMs can now trigger automated replies that convert social interactions into email or SMS subscribers.
Social reach is rented. Email and SMS lists are assets you own. This feature bridges that gap.
For cross-border sellers running Instagram traffic, auto-replies turn one-off comments into long-term, addressable contacts.
Personalized Send Time: Same Email, Better Timing
Personalized Send Time also hit GA in this release. The system analyzes each subscriber’s historical open behavior and delivers emails at their individual peak-open time.
No content changes needed. Same email, different send times per person. Klaviyo reports an average 35% click rate lift from this alone.
Customer Agent Goes Multichannel
Customer Agent now works across chat, SMS, email, and WhatsApp. For sellers with multilingual support needs, one team can handle inquiries from every channel.
Did the 25% Price Increase Buy You Anything Real?
Klaviyo raised prices 25% in January 2026. A lot of brands did the math and weren’t thrilled. The new features address actual pain points.
If your SMS campaigns are still plain text, RCS is worth testing. If your list is large but engagement is flat, AI Audience Optimization cuts waste. If Instagram drives steady traffic, auto-replies help you keep it.
Out of 75+ features, maybe five are genuinely useful. Sometimes that’s enough.
